Houston Charter School System Buys Energy Corridor Office Building
Harmony Public Schools has purchased a vacant office building in the Energy Corridor with plans to make it its new headquarters. The Houston Business Journal reports the Houston-based charter school system bought the six-story, 171,091-square-foot building at 1255 Enclave Parkway. The 6.75-acre property includes a three-story, 676-space parking garage. It’s part of The Enclave, a 120-acre, 3 million-square-foot office complex.
It was built in 1999, and the property was last appraised at $18.5 million as of Jan. 1, 2024.
JLL’s Kevin McConn and Marty Hogan represented the seller. The previous owner since 2019 was Exeter Property Group.
Harmony was founded in 2000 and operates more than 60 public charter schools in Texas, including 28 in Houston. The headquarters is moving from its current offices at 9321 W. Sam Houston Parkway. Harmony has several schools and facilities at that site.
